The Capitals are on the ice for their morning skate at RBC Center in Raleigh and it appears that center Marcus Johansson is no worse for wear after an awkward collision late in the game against Montreal earlier this week.
In the third period of Washington’s 3-0 win over the Canadiens Wednesday, Johansson went down grimacing with an apparent leg/thigh injury and didn’t return to the contest.
He told reporters afterward that he expected to be fine, but seeing the second-year pivot on the ice ahead of Friday game against the Hurricanes with no inherent impediments is undoubtedly good sign.
The forward lines are the same as they were against Montreal, which were:
Ovechkin-Johansson-Brouwer
Chimera-Laich-Semin
Hendricks-Halpern-Ward
Eakin-Perreault-Knuble/Beagle
