French actress Vanessa Paradis. (Thibault Camus - AP) If your belief in romance stems from the relationship statuses of celebrities (I'm looking a you, people who declared love is dead after Seal and Heidi Klum split), then take heart: Vanessa Paradis has denied that her 14-year relationship with Johnny Depp is over.
Appearing on the French program, “Le Grand Journal,” Paradis said reports that she and Depp are splitting up are “of course ... false,” adding that this particular rumor “could hurt my family.”
The couple have two children together.
The interview was, I imagine, begrudgingly translated by People magazine, who recently ran a cover story claiming that the two were living apart and their “relationship is all but officially finished.”
Paradis, who is currently promoting her film, “Cafe de Flore,” actually had some choice words for any tabloid that reported the rumor: “These magazines end up in the fireplace or the toilet.” (Us Weekly translated that line, not People.)
The interview is embedded below, for the viewing pleasure of any Celebritology readers who can speak French.
